An appeal will be made during the high holydays in every Reform Congregation in the United States for support of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations, which after sixty years of service, is going through a difficult period.
This announcement was made on Monday evening at the first meeting of a special committee established in the interests of the Union, held at the Community House of Temple Emanu-El.
Ludwig Vogelstein, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Union, told of the urgent needs of the union.
Mr. Vogelstein also read a message from Henry M. Toch, Chairman of the special committee, who could not attend the meeting. Mr. Toch appealed for support for the Union.
