Judge Jacob Panken, Harry Lee Franklin and B. C. Vladeck, chairman of the Jewish Labor Committee and manager of the Forward, are listed among the speakers who will address a memorial meeting called for Monday evening at Cooper Union Building, Eighth street and Fourth avenue, “to commemorate the first anniversary of the heroic struggle of the Austrian workers against Fascist oppression and tyranny.”
The meeting will be held under the auspices of the Chest for the Liberation of Workers of Europe, organized at the last convention of the American Federation of Labor at San Francisco.
Numerous trade unions and other organizations will participate, among them the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America, International Cloth Hat, Cap and Millinery Workers Union, the Painters Union, the Socialist Party, Young People’s Socialist League and Workmen’s Circle.
