Refusal of Abrahamitic rites to children whose parents publicly violate the Sabbath, is demanded by the Shomrei Shabbas, the Sabbath observance alliance, an organization of pious Jews whose purpose it is to enforce strict Sabbath observance.
The organization has of late been particularly concerned with the growing number of Jewish storekeepers who keep their shops open on the Sabbath. As a means against the violation of the Sabbath, the society has now addressed itself to all Mohelim, urging them to refuse to officiate at circumcision ceremonies in accordance with the Jewish law which permits refusal of the Abrahamitic rite to Sabbath violators.
