After a lapse of forty years, during which “Kol Nidre” has not been sung in the reform Temple Beth Israel here due to theological differences, the ancient Hebrew chant is to be revived Yom Kippur Eve, although with a different prayer.
While browsing in a New York library recently Rabbi Abraham J. Feldman of the temple came upon an old book of folk songs in which he found a prayer written by Henry Worthington Loomis to the tune of “Kol Nidre”. This is the prayer Rabbi Feldman has arranged for his choir to sing. It will be given in English.
