Tony-Award winning actress Nell Carter died Thursday at the age of 54. Carter, who won her Tony in 1978 for her role in “Ain’t Misbehavin’,” converted to Judaism after she married an Orthodox Jewish man. She remained Jewish even after the couple divorced.
