Tony Blair predicted imminent progress toward Israeli-Palestinian peace. “Our obligation is to put forward a peace process that can work and try to take that forward,” the British prime minister said in a BBC Radio interview broadcast Sunday. “And over the next few weeks I think there will be some real movement there.” Blair, spoke after “the Quartet” of international mediators reaffirmed its demands that the Hamas-led Palestinian Authority abandon its terrorist platform as a prelude to negotiations.
