Malcolm Toon, the United States Ambassador to Israel, has warned Israelis not to expect American aid to be as high as it has been up to now. Toon’s remarks were contained in an article in a publication on political and social problems published by Belt Berl, the Labor Party’s ideological institute which is headed by former Foreign Minister Abba Eban. Toon stressed that the cutback in foreign aid is not aimed at Israel specifically but is part of a general reduction in American foreign aid.
