The Bialik prizes for science and literature were awarded to day to Prof. Harry Torczyner of Hebrew University for his researches at Lachish and to Dr. Saul Chernichovsky for his poem, “Look, the Earth!” Twenty-seven scientists and 34 authors participated in the ceremony. Mayor Israel Rokach announced that Bialik House was now the municipality’s property “as a national treasure.”
