Arturo Toscanini, famous conductor, arrived here by plane from Italy today to prepare for the inaugural series of concerts which he will conduct for the Palestine Symphony Orchestra of 65 exiled Jewish musicians from Germany.
The maestro was accompanied by Bronislaw Huberman, noted violinist and founder of the orchestra.
The orchestra’s premiere under Toscanini’s baton is scheduled for Dec. 30. Arrangements have made to broadcast the concert, from the Edison Theatre here, throughout the Near East and possibly throughout the world. Toscanini is scheduled to conduct the first four concerts.
