Trade restrictions imposed on Russia because of the treatment of Jewish dissidents during the Soviet era may be lifted. Russia has agreed to ease quotas on poultry imports from the United States, which increases the chance that Congress will lift the 1974 Jackson-Vanik trade restrictions on Russia.
