Israel Feinberg, general manager of the New York Cloak Joint Board of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, AFL, and Abraham Miller, secretary-treasurer of the New York Joint Board, Amalgamated Clothing Workers, CIO, have been named to head the Labor Union Division of the United Jewish Appeal of Greater New York for its 1947 campaign, it was announced today by Sylvan Gotshal, president of the UJA.
The two trade union officers, who were chairmen of the 1946 drive, will head up the effort to mobilize all local unions and union members in the metropolitan area, including both locals, international unions and labor societies, behind the UJA drive. The trade union division has taken a quota of $600,000.
