The latest statistics concerning the Jewish population in Soviet Russia show the beginnings of an economic transformation.
According to the statistics, the Jewish population of Odessa now numbers 200,000, of whom 25,000 are members of the trade unions, 15,000 are small traders and 5,000 are students. The Jews constitute 43 per cent of the general population.
