Transylvanian Jewish organizations have addressed a protest to the Ministry of Justice at the acquittal by the Supreme Court of Lt. Col. Nocolas Vitecu, former commander of the forced labor camp at Pancoya.
Vitecu was originally sentenced to 15 years imprisonment by a Peoples Court for brutal treatment of Jewish prisoners at the camp. On his appeal to the Supreme Court in Bucharest, Vitecu was acquitted. The Jews have demanded a new trial.
