“Tremendous enthusiasm for Israel exists in the United States,” Prof. Selig Brodetsky, head of the London branch of the Jewish Agency executive, declared today at a press conference following his return here from a visit to the U.S. He expects to leave for Israel on Thursday and will return to England in the middle of next month.
Asserting that there can be no doubt that official American policy towards Israel has improved in recent weeks, Prof. Brodetsky declared that there is still some resistance in certain sections of the U.S. Government against President Truman’s policies. He added, however, that Truman now seems to be more successful in overcoming this resistance than he has been in the past.
