The trial of three boys charged with attempting to set fire to the B’nai Israel Synagogue here opened this afternoon in Juvenile Court. The three were found guilty by Judge Boyle several weeks ago of tossing a home-made “Molotov cocktail” at the synagogue building. Twelve other boys are to appear before Judge Boyle during the trial, although no specific charges have been lodged against them.

Police Commissioner Gibbons today announced he had doubled the force of the Juvenile Aid Bureau by adding 40 members. The augmented force will start a week-long course in detection and prevention of juvenile crime.
