The trial of Count Helldorf, the Commandant of the Hitlerist storm troops in Berlin, his chief of staff, Ernst, and the Berlin Commandant of the Steelhelm, Brandt, on the charge of directing the operations in Berlin on Rosh Hashanah when Hitlerists and members of the Steehelm attacked Jews, has again been adjourned. The trial was fixed for last Friday. It was adjourned till to-day, and has now been adjourned without any definite date being given. It has also been taken out of the hands of the court of summary jurisdiction which sent the participants in the excesses to prison, and transferred to the ordinary court.
Jewish quarters fear that the Central Government intimidated by the growing Hitlerist successes at the polls, as in Hamburg this week, and believing that the Hitlerists may have to be considered soon as participants in a Coalition Government, from which they will be too powerful to be excluded, is trying to come to terms with the Hitlerist-leaders, and for this reason is concerned to drag the proceedings against these prominent Hitlerists.
