Three men went on trial today in a Tel Aviv court on charges of murder in the assassination of Dr. Israel Rudolph Kastner, central figure in a controversy over whether he had collaborated with the Nazis in the slaughter of Hungarian Jews. The accused are Yossef Menkes, Zeev Eckstein and Ben Shamer.
