A trial of former SS leader Felix Landau on charges of ordering the shooting of 20 Jews in Nazi-occupied Poland in July, 1941 opened here today with 26 witnesses from the United States, Israel, France and West Germany scheduled to testify.
The 51-year-old former forced labor chief, who was cited by Hitler for his efficiency, also was accused of murdering an old man detailed to work in his garden in Drochbyce, near Lodz during the same period. The trial is expected to last three weeks.
