Commenting on the Independence Day ceremony being sponsor nationally by the Council Against Intolerance and the representative character of the Council board, the New York Herald Tribune said editorially today that it was “comforting to realize that intolerance in this country “has usually engendered a corrective and that the American people have quickly regained their sense of balance and fair play, and have forgotten their momentary prejudices.”
