With the approval of Premier Benito Mussolini, Senator Theodor Mayer, founder and principal owner of the newspaper Il Piccolo, was handed over control of the paper to its “Aryan” editor, Signor Alessi. Il Piccolo was one of the first newspapers in Italy to support Mussolini. Senator Mayer, who is of Jewish origin, has held several important government posts.
