President Truman today indirectly blamed Soviet Russia for the present situation in the Near East. “There is no reason for Christians, Jews and Arabs to have any differences because the fundamental law of Christianity is the Mosaic law founded on justice,” he said.

The whole situation in the Near East, the President stated, is affected “by one thing – the inability of one of our allies to reach an adjustment to bring peace to the world.” He spoke at a luncheon honoring Eddie Jacobson, his former business partner, for his work in raising funds to equip recreation rooms in two military hospitals in Tel Aviv.
