President Truman’s ideas regarding United States responsibilities in connection with the proposed immigration of 100,000 European Jews to Palestine will be the guiding and controlling factors for the Cabinet committee alternates in their forthcoming discussions with British officials in London, Acting Secretary of State Dean Acheson said today.
Mr. Acheson made this statement at his press conference in reply to a question as to whether the Cabinet committee deputies, who left today for London, carried with them any specific outline of United States proposals as to the responsibilities this government would be willing to undertake to facilitate admission to Palestine of the 100,000.
