A grant of $150,000, the largest ever received by the Tucson Jewish community and one of the largest ever received by any beneficiary in Tucson, was announced by the Tucson Jewish Community Center for a new gymnasium-auditorium.
The gift was made by the Danciger Foundation. The money came from the estate of the late Sadie Danciger, a former resident of Tucson who originally had provided funds for the purchase of land where the new Jewish Center building now stands. The gymnasium-auditorium will be named in honor of Miss Danciger and her father, Joseph Danciger.
