The Turkish Government has decided to comply with a request forwarded to it a month ago by the Israel Government for the initiation of diplomatic relations between the two countries, it was reported here. It is expected that an Israel diplomatic envoy will reach Ankara shortly while an Ambassador from Turkey to the Jewish state will be named in the near future.
Although the name of the future Israel Ambassador to Turkey is not known here, it is believed certain that Victor Eliyashar, representative of the Israel Ministry of Immigration who is now in Turkey, will be appointed Consul General in Istanbul.
