Hussein Jahid Yaltchin, well-known Turkish news-paper man and member of the People’s Party, which controls the government, has been named Turkey’s representative on the United Nations Palestine Conciliation Commission, it was officially announced here today.
Yaltchin, a member of the Turkish National Assembly, favored the admission of an Israeli representative to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization at the last meeting of the organization In Beirut, which he attended as Turkey’s representative. This appointment completes the membership of the Conciliation Commission, since the United States and France, the other two members of the body, have already named their representatives.
