The Grand Rabbinate here has received permission from the Turkish Government to establish a rabbinical seminary. The school, which will have six classes and grant a diploma equivalent to high school graduation here, is scheduled to be open by the end of this year.
Thirteen students have already been enrolled in the school which will obtain some teachers from Israel, It will be located in the building in Haskoy, Istanbul suburb, once the site of a school that produced a number of well-known rabbinical scholars in the last century.
