“The Turkish Government will not abolish the Grand Rabbinate in Turkey,” the Turkish Hakam Bashi, Effendi Bejarano, declared today in an interview given to the representative of the J.T.A.
The Grand Rabbi further declared that the Turkish Government is tolerant to the Jews and its order, closing the non-Turkish national schools in Turkey, does not affect the Jewish schools maintained by the Alliance Israelite and the B’nai Brith.
