A new series of bimonthly one-half hour programs exploring the impact of public and local issues of concern to the Jewish community of New York will begin tomorrow at 7 p.m. on Sterling Manhattan Cable Channel 10. The new series, “Forum,” was announced today by the TV’s program manager, John Sanfratello. The first program of the series will feature a discussion on Soviet Jewry.

The guests for this program, Sanfratello said, are Rabbi Gilbert Klapperman, chairman of the New York Conference on Soviet Jewry, and Richard Cohen, executive director of the American Jewish Congress. The second program on Nov. 23 will feature Dr. Bernard Mandelbaum, president of the Jewish Theological Seminary. He will discuss the United States and Israel. The moderator for the series will be Jerome M. Becker, a New York City Commissioner on Human Rights and a member of the AJCongress. Channel 10 can be viewed by subscribers to Sterling Manhattan Cable Television, a city franchised cable operation south of 86th St. on the East Side and south of 79th St. on the West Side.
