A television set installed in the members’ lounge of the Knesset (Parliament) was removed after less than a week because it precipitated quarrels among members and further reduced the often meager attendance at Knesset sessions. A committee of the House decided to donate the set to the soldiers’ welfare committee because of arguments over who would turn it on or off and whether it should be kept on while the Knesset was meeting.
