The General Officer Commanding British troops in Palestine today confirmed the 12-year sentence imposed by a military court on David Meiri for illegal possession of a home-made bomb, a revolver and several rounds of ammunition. Meiri, who admitted he was a member of the outlawed Jewish terrorist Stern Gang, refused a lawyer charging that the court’s action was illegal since captured members of the Stern Gang should be treated as prisoners of war.
