Eight members of the Hashomer Hatzair Kibbutz Yaron have been expelled for defending the Prague trials despite a political order from the organization, which composes the largest faction within the Mapam Party, prohibiting such a political stand.
In an attempt to force revocation of the expulsion order, the eight members went on a hunger strike, in which they were joined by 20 members of the kibbutz who were not threatened with expulson. Today, however, the hunger strikers agreed to abandon their strike and move to Yad Hanna, a kibbutz where a majority of the members hold their political views.
