Twenty-two Israeli soldiers were injured when an army truck they were travelling in caught fire in Lebanon south of Tyre. Seven were reported in serious condition with burns. The others were treated for smoke inhalation and sent home. Army sources said the fire was caused when a smoke grenade carried by one of the soldiers detonated accidentally. Meanwhile, Defense Minister Ariel Sharon toured the old demarcation line between east and west Beirut from which barriers are being removed.
