A survey of religious affiliations now concluded by the National Council of the Churches of Christ has disclosed that almost one-quarter, or 22.1 percent of the population of New York City is Jewish. The church group’s report says that 34 percent is Catholic and 10. 7 percent is Protestant.
The three percentages add up to a total of 66. 8 and leave 33. 2 percent unaccounted for. The latter are regarded as being affiliated with neither church nor synagogue. No statistics are given for the religious composition of the unaffiliated group.
