Two British Youths Sentenced and Fined for Damaging Jewish Cemetery

Two Manchester boys drew sentences for vandalism at the Prestwich Jewish Cemetery. One boy was put on probation for two years and his mother ordered to pay five pounds toward the repair of a damaged grave. A year’s sentence for the other boy was suspended and his father was instructed to pay 13 pounds damages.

Police in Hull are investigating the week-end theft from an old synagogue of ceremonial ornaments, a carpet and other objects, valued at more than 300 pounds. ### The thieves entered through a window, opened the Ark and took out all the silver ### breast-plates, pointers and kiddush cups, a number of which were stolen. The rest were thrown on the floor.
