Two congregations in New York are sending copies of religious texts to India to help Jews victimized by recent floods. The Village Temple and the Indian Jewish Congregation of the USA joined forces to send the books to Jews in Panvel, India. The city’s Beth-El Synagogue, built in 1849, was destroyed in July floods.
