Two thousand displaced Jews at the Polese Camp in nothern Italy have been cut off from food supplies by the International Refugee Organization following the DP’s refusal to allow the British director of the camp to ##.
The incident began during the week-end when the refugees barricaded the camp and barred the director. The reason for their action is not known here. When they refused to accede to the IRO authorities’ request to end the demonstration, food supplies to the camp were halted early Monday.
Displaced Jews and Italian Jews throughout the country observed yesterday as a day of fasting to protest the return of the Exodus refugees to Germany.
