Top women leaders of the United Jewish Appeal were told today that unless there is sharply increased support of the UJA campaign in 1955 thousands of immigrants arriving in Israel from North Africa this year may suffer “discouragement, disillusion and further pauperization.” The chief speakers at today’s session, the first of two days of meetings called by the UJA national women’s board, were Ellis Radinsky, executive director of the United Israel Appeal, and Moses A. Leavitt, executive vice-chairman of the Joint Distribution Committee.
