Two films about the Holocaust won Academy Awards. “The Long Way Home,” a film about the lives of Holocaust survivors immediately after the war, won best documentary feature. The film was produced by the Simon Wiesenthal Center. “Visas and Virtue,” about a Japanese diplomat who saved thousands of Lithuanian Jews, took home the Oscar for best short film.
