Two local policemen were arrested here today on orders of the chief prosecutor, charged with having participated in the murder of hundreds of Jewish civilians in Lithuania during World War II. The men are Ewald Sudau and Herbert Schmidke. According to the prosecutor, they were members of the Gestapo, and had committed the atrocities in 1941 and 1942.
