The death of two HIAS officials was made known here last night. Isadore Hershfeld, 80, who served as counsel of HIAS in Washington since 1923, died in the nation’s capital after suffering a brief illness. For the past decade he was honorary secretary of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America.
Benjamin J. Weinberg, associate treasurer of the HIAS and vice president of the Pennsylvania Exchange Bank here, died at the age of 50. He was a member of the executive committees of the American and World Jewish Congress and was also active in Zionist affairs.
