An elderly Israeli couple suffered injuries today when terrorist infiltrators from Lebanon fired bazooka shells at a tourist bus in the vicinity of Mt, Hermon. The couple, Shmaryahu and Rivka Schiff, of Kadimah village, was flown to a Haifa hospital where they were reported to be out of danger.
The attack was the first by terrorists from Lebanon since Feb. 25 when Israeli forces carried out a series of raids against terrorist bases in the section of southeastern Lebanon known as Fatahland. The bus that came under attack was carrying Israeli tourists. No other injuries were reported.
Two Israeli soldiers were injured earlier today when they stepped on a mine in the same region of northern Israel. Security sources believe the mine may have been planted by the same terrorists who attacked the bus.
