Two Israeli settler leaders are suspected of inciting violence against troops. The Justice Ministry on Thursday opened probes against Daniella Weiss and Noam Livnat, who have described Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s plan to withdraw from the Gaza Strip and parts of the West Bank this year as illegal and urged that it be resisted. Weiss, the mayor of the Kedumim settlement, was defiant, accusing Attorney General Menachem Mazuz of being Sharon’s stoolie.
