Leading the lifeguard staff of Rockaway Beach in the number of rescues for the 1934 season are Louis Abelson and Harold Kramer, both of whom represented the United States in the Jewish Olympiad at Palestine in 1932.
Abelson has rescued 21 persons from drowning. Kramer has 20 savings to his credit. Both men are graduates of the College of the City of New York, and have been members of the Rockaway life-saving crew for four years.
