Mayor Frank Shaw yesterday appointed Samuel Gach and Ray Kleinberger, two prominent Jews of this city, to important posts on local commissions. Mr. Gach, who is one of the publishers of the California Jewish Voice, a Yiddish-English weekly, was appointed to a position on the Municipal Health Commission.
Mr. Kleinberger was named a member of the Police Commission. He had been a member of the Health Commission for six years, until 1931, at which time he resigned. He is president of the Los Angeles Civic League.
Mr. Gach has been active in Los Angeles political circles for many years. He is head of the East Side Democratic Club. He also is active in Legion affairs. During the war he was stationed in Palestine.
