Two members of the Gadnai, Israeli youth battalions, who disappeared several days ago while on a hike in the Lydda area were today reported by the Jordanians to be captives of the Arab Legion.
The report was made by Jordanian representatives on the Israeli-Jordan Mixed Armistice Commission, who said the two youths were held in the Ramallah jail. Lt. Col. Shaul Ramati, Israeli chief delegate, immediately demanded the return of the youths, the return of property recently stolen by infiltrees and asked the Jordanians to join with Israel in an anti-malaria project on the Yarmuk River.
The informal session also discussed the case of three Arabs, apprehended by the Jordan authorities after they had raped and murdered a Jewish girl. The Jordanians agreed to permit the Israeli authorities to interrogate the three men on Friday.
