Two of every three Jewish young people attend college, Dr. Alfred Jospe, national director of programs and resources of the B’nai B’rith Hillel Foundation, declared here at a meeting of the Purdue University Hillel unit. The occasion was a ceremony at which the Hillel building’s mortgage was burned.
Dr. Jospe, in a review of the general student picture, revealed that 86 percent of the Jewish girls at college are married during their college career. He recalled that 36 years ago the Hillel Foundation launched its first unit for 500 students at the University of Illinois. Now there are 217 chapters on American campuses.
