Rabbi Max Nussbaum, past national president of the Zionist Organization of America and for the past 25 years spiritual leader of Temple of Israel of Hollywood, was the recipient this week of the 1971 Scopus Award from the American Friends of the Hebrew University. In New York, Mrs. Elizabeth (Biddie) Fabian was last week the recipient of the university’s 1971 Scopus Award Laureate.
Sam Rothberg, international chairman of the Hebrew University’s Board of Governors, made the presentation and observed that Mrs. Fabian made the development of the university one of the main causes in her life, visualizing it as the means by which Israel will be able to take her place in the forefront of enlightened nations. Mrs. Fabian has served as Alternate Governor of the Hebrew University.
