Two scenes in a Canadian production of Shakespeare’s “The Merchant of Venice” were changed after a Muslim lobbying group protested. The changes were made to appease the Canadian division of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, which said the production’s portrayal of the Prince of Morocco, a minor character, was offensive to Muslims.
