A state-wide Connecticut Jewish Community Relations Council was formally constituted at a meeting in New Haven attended by 50 representatives of Connecticut Jewish communities. Nine cities are officially participating in the new body and four more are provisionally taking part until their boards can approve affiliation. The council represents more than 70,000 Jewish residents of the state. Louis Feinmark of New Haven was elected president and Nathan Sherman, of Hartford, executive director.
