Two thousand desiatin of land were allotted to the Omsk (Siberia) branch of the Ozet, the Society for the Settlement of Jews on the land. The new allottment is located 25 verst from Omsk. The Ozet plans to settle three Jewish collectives consisting of 56 families, numbering 291 persons.
The Comzet, the Governmental Department for the Settlement of Jews on the Land, has granted to the Ozet another 50,000 roubles for Jewish settlement in White Russia. The Comzet had previously allocated 20,000 roubles for settlement in White Russia.
The White Russian Ozet also received credit amounting to 170,000 roubles from the White Russian Agricultural Bank.
New elections to the praesidium of the Gzet have taken place. J. Weinstein-Rachmiel. Communist, was elected president. Dr. Abraham Bragin, non-Partisan, was chosen vice-president.
W. C. Graves, who for years has been private secretary to Julius Rosenwald and in charge of Mr. Rosenwald’s philanthropic work, has resigned from that position and has retired. Harry A. Wisansky is now Mr. Rosenwald’s new aid.
